The Cybersecurity Lecture Series at Georgia Tech is a free, one-hour lecture from a thought leader who is advancing the field of information security and privacy. Invited speakers include executives and researchers from Fortune 500 companies, federal intelligence agencies, start-ups, and incubators, as well as Georgia Tech faculty and students presenting their research. Lectures are open to all -- students, faculty, industry, government, or simply the curious.
Abstract:
"Defending Organizations in a Fast-Moving Cyber Arms Race"
This presentation will provide an in-depth analysis of the latest trends, tactics, and news of the cyber threat landscape as seen from the eyes of a practicing security architect. Providing more than just breach detection, SonicWall delivers automated real-time breach prevention that protects organizations from cyber threats including ransomware, encrypted malware, email, and chip-based threats. Rob will share extracts from the 2018 SonicWall Cyber Threat Report including topics of Threat Intelligence, Industry Analysis, and Cybersecurity Guidance. He will also discuss how SonicWall’s research is practically applied to respond to SSL/TLS encryption hiding attacks, malware cocktails, and processor threats such as Meltdown.
