Amazon Security Team on Campus

The Georgia Tech School of Cybersecurity and Privacy (SCP) is bringing the Amazon Security Team onto campus this Wednesday, Nov. 17 through Friday Nov. 19 for a series of events geared towards engaging with cybersecurity and privacy students at Georgia Tech.

The Amazon team will meet with students in a variety of settings, including talks, interviews and a mixer. Students are encouraged to get to know these industry professionals and talk to the about what it is like to work for one of the largest companies in the world. This event is open to all SCP students who wish to participate, however space for some events may be limited.

About:The Amazon Information Security Team will be on hand to chat about open opportunities in Security Engineering and Security Software Development. Bring your resumes and any questions you have about what it’s like to work at Amazon!Hear from Nishith Sinha, Senior Security Engineer at Amazon. In this talk, Nishith will dive into how Amazon security engineers deliver security across various Amazon businesses- Retail, Prime Video, Alexa, Physical Stores, etc.School of Cybersecurity and Privacy invites students to a mixer with the Amazon Information Security Team. The mixer is an excellent opportunity to network with the Amazon Team in a relaxed, conversational setting and learn how Amazon teams deliver security at scale.  This week’s lecture will have two main components. SCP Chair Rich DeMillo will engage in a fireside chat with Kevin Walker, Amazon Leader of the Dedicated Security Team, about his career. Students will be invited to engage in the discussion and ask questions. 

The second half of the event will be led by Michael Davis, Amazon Principal Security Engineer and author of “Hacking Exposed: Malware and Rootkits.” Hear about how Amazon security engineers minimize security risks in products and respond to security issues proactively.
